Harrogate Town FCHarrogate Town returned pointless from the well appointed Glassworld Stadium, going down to a 4-0 defeat to Histon.

Histon attacked from the off, with Jay Davies testing Chris Elliot in the second minute.

On five minutes, Histon took the lead when skipper Omer Riza found Dan Holman in acres of space and he calmly picked his spot.giving Elliot no chance.

Town began to assert themselves and Liam Darville’s pinpoint cross picked out Laurie Wilson, who was denied by an excellent save fron home keeper Callum Kitscha.

Paul Brayson shot over the bar as Town continued to press,but in an dangerous counter attack,Darville cleared of the line to keep the score 1-0 at the break.

Harrogate enjoyed a good spell at the start of the second half, with Craig Radcliffe’s curling free kick having to be punched clear by Kitscha, then he thwarted Brayson after he had been played in by Wilson’s superb cross field pass.

Town’s hopes were dashed just before the hour when Holman latched onto a long clearance and lobbed Elliot to score his second.

Shortly afterwards, Town were caught on the counter as Dan Sparkes broke down the left and drove into the far corner.

With eight minutes left Riza completed the scoring with an unstoppable shot from twentyfive yards after Histon had been awarded a free kick by Referee Sarah Garratt.

Radcliffe and Adam Nowakowski threatened in stoppage time as Town sought a consolation goal,but to no avail,and Town made the long journey home to prepare for next Saturday’s visit of F C Halifax Town.
