Triple Firearms Incident in Batley

Police are appealing for witnesses following three firearms incidents over the weekend in the Batley area.

The first incident happened at 12.15am on Saturday 10th September, at an address on Manor Way in Batley.

The second occurred at 4.45am on Sunday 11th September, at an address on Hawthorne Avenue, Batley.

The third happened at 1.54am on Monday 12th September, at an address on Conway Crescent, Batley.

On each occasion officers were called to reports that a firearm had been discharged at the properties. Each properties windows and the front door had been damaged. No one was injured.

Six local men aged 19 to 28 have been arrested on suspicion of firearms and criminal damage offences. All five remain in police custody across West Yorkshire.

DCI Simon Bottomley from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team (HMET) said:

We believe the three incidents are linked and are appealing for anyone with any information to speak in confidence to the HMET team on 0845 60 60 606. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
