Police seek vital witness following Knaresborough burglaries

12 September 2011

Police are appealing for information to trace the driver of a van following burglaries in Knaresborough.

Overnight between Saturday 3 September and Sunday 4 September 2011, thieves broke into five properties in the Courtyard and Castlegate area of the town. They stole money, a Samsung netbook and a wristwatch.

PC Emma Newby, of the Priority Crime Team at Harrogate, said:

At the time of the burglaries a white Peugeot van with the words “Queensbury van hire” on it, was seen in the area. It maybe that this van is totally unconnected with the incidents and I would ask that the driver come forward so that they can be eliminated from out enquiries.

I would like to speak to anyone who either witnessed the burglaries or has any information that could help to identify the thieves and ask that they contact the police as soon as possible.

If you can assist the investigation please contact PC Emma Newby at Harrogate police station on 0845 60 60 24 7 quoting reference number 12110150087. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
