Harrogate woman dies in traffic collision near Ripley

(Update 9am Friday 9 September 2011) Police investigating a road traffic collision on the A61 north of Ripley yesterday (8 September 2011) have now established that three vehicles were involved in the incident.

The three vehicles involved were a Volvo lorry and trailer combination, a red Fiat Punto and a silver Ford Fiesta. Sadly, the driver of the Fiat Punto, a 47-year-old woman from Harrogate, was seriously injured in the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The identity of Harrogate woman has not been released.

Officers have renewed their appeal for information and are urging anyone who witnessed the collision or saw any of the three vehicles prior to the incident to get in touch.
