York Crown Court has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jeremy Peter Barron, aged 29, from Lower Quarry, Staintondale, after he failed to appear before the court to answer a charge of robbery.

He allegedly stole cash and a mobile phone from a 54-year-old Huddersfield man, after assaulting him outside the Golden Last pub, on Eastborough, at around 11pm on Tuesday 1 February 2011.

The victim suffered a head injury in the incident and was admitted to Scarborough District Hospital for treatment.

Officers are appealing to anyone who has any information about Barron’s whereabouts to get in touch.

Inspector Tony Quinn, of Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “I am urging anyone who has seen Jeremy Barron recently or knows where he is, to get in touch with the police or Crimestoppers as soon as they can.

“Barron is suspected of a serious offence and is avoiding attending court to face up to the charge brought against him.

“I am appealing to the public to help us find him so he can appear before a judge as he is required to do by law.”

Anyone who can help the police to find Jeremy Barron is urged to contact Scarborough Safer Neighbourhood Team on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110103670.
