Net closing on Sea Life suspects

14 May 2011

Police investigating a burglary at the Sea Life Centre in Scarborough have released CCTV footage of a suspect they would like to trace.

At around 9.30pm on Friday 29 April 2011, two suspects entered the grounds of the complex and broke into the crazy golf kiosk through a metal shutter.

The offenders were captured on CCTV as they searched the kiosk, before making off with around £40 cash and 12 bottles of soft drinks.

One of the suspects can clearly be seen on the footage, however the other suspect’s face was completely concealed with a hood and cannot be seen on camera.

Officers are appealing to anyone who can help them identify the offenders to come forward.

PC Graeme Boast, of Scarborough police, said: “The image which shows one of the people we are looking for is of very good quality and clearly shows his face.

“Someone should be able to help us identify him from that picture and I am appealing for anyone who recognises him to contact the police or Crimestoppers.

“I would also appeal to anyone who saw any suspicious activity at the Sea Life centre around the time of the incident to come forward.”

Anyone who can help the police with their enquiries is urged to contact PC Graeme Boast, of Scarborough police, on 0845 60 60 24 7, quoting reference number 12110069533.

Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
