Business leaders given further opportunity to join Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership Board

13 April 2011

Business leaders in York, North Yorkshire and the East Riding have been given another opportunity to join the York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership Board.

Barry Dodd, the newly appointed Chairman of York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership, has decided to re-open recruitment to the Board.

‘I am particularly keen to receive more applications from female entrepreneurs’ said Barry. ‘My aim is to establish a representative Board and that means achieving a good balance of male and female business leaders’.

Barry went on to say ‘Geographic representation is equally important and so far we haven’t received any applications from East Riding business. If you are an interesting, innovative and enterprising business leader in the East Riding then I would like to hear from you! ’

The Local Enterprise Partnership is a partnership between the private and public sector. The majority of the Board will be from the private sector and this will put business firmly in the driving seat to remove barriers to business growth, support inward investment and job creation.

Recruitment of Board members is an open and transparent process and appointment will be on merit only. Business leaders have until 21st April to send a covering letter and CV to Julie.chandler@ynypu.org.uk.
