At a sun drenched Wetherby Road ,Harrogate fought out a dull draw with Vauxhall to make it eight games without defeat.

Town, with Liam Hardy making his first start since breaking his leg in October, dominated from the start with Graeme Amstrong forcing an early corner.

Harrogate Town vs Vauxhall MotorsVauxhall were presented with a great chance after thirteen minutes when Craig Mahon picked up a rebound off Foster, but Obi Anoruo just failed to connect with his centre.

Motors ,prompted by the excellent Mahon, began to threaten, but the prolific Anoruo was well shackled by Adam Nowakowski and Jake Picton.

As half time approached Richard Marshall tested Scott Tynan in the visitors goal with a vicious cross shot, then Armstrong headed Matt Bloomer’s cross wide.

After the break, both teams had good chances to break the deadlock.Vauxhall’s Tom Hannigan headed over from underneath the bar and Town’s Armstrong spurned an excellent chance when he headed Dom Roma’s centre wide at the far post.

When Martin Foster was penalised for dangerous play with ten minutes left, this caused a fracas which saw Anoruo red carded and Town’s Ciaran Toner booked.

Town then staged a grandstand finish in an effort to make their advantage count.

Tynan did well to keep out a Wayne Phillips shot at the foot of the near post, then deep into added time Jake Picton almost gave Town the victory when he steered a through ball narrowly wide, but Motors hung on for a share of the spoils.
