Gainsborough Trinity 1 Harrogate Town 3 Att 321

An excellent performance dedicated to hospitalized kitman,Martin Walker, saw Town leave Gainsborough with all three points.

The match burst into life after five minutes, when Lee Ellington’s header from Ciaran Toner’s corner, was cleared off theline, but a quick Trinity breakaway saw Ryan Kendall blasting a thirty yard thunderbolt wide of Mark Cook.

Harrogate were handed a tremendous advantage after 17 minutes when Trinity’s Luke Waterfall saw red after hauling down Graeme Armstrong in the area.

Armstrong promptly hammered home his seventh penalty of the season to level the scores.

Wayne Phillips taunted the home defence as Town sought to exploit their numerical advantage.

However,it was Trinity who came nearest to scoring with sub keeper Jordan Myers doing well to keep out Andrew Boyle’s header.

Ten man Gainsborough took the game to Harrogate after the break, and it took Town until the last twenty minutes to gain the ascendency.

New signing Chibuzo Chilaka was prominent in a move that ended with Phillips driving home from Gary King’s cross field pass.

With ten minutes left Toner picked out King who beat Gavin Ward with a low shot into the far corner to complete the scoring.
