31 October 2013

Harrogate – The Woodfield and Bilton Bike Event took place at the weekend (27 October 2013) – Bilton Youth Club, on Bilton lane

Despite the rainy weather the turn out to the was good with many people turning out for bike advice and to get their bikes security chipped.

The driving force behind the event was PCSO James Skaith who had actively promoted the event and  who was on-hand throughout the day along with PC Amanda Hanusch-Moore, Fiona Friday from Harrogate Borough Council and Youth Worker, Lisa Davies-Varnier.

The event was also part of the ‘My Neighbourhood’ initiative that has projects under way in Woodfield, Pateley Bridge, Ripon Minster and Granby.

PCSO James Skaith said:

We are very happy with the turn out considering the weather.

I am hoping that today will be the start of a Community cycling club, not just for Bilton but for the whole of Harrogate.

The club would have guided rides and also help to improve rider safety.
