Vital Technology Group, the Wetherby-based provider of business IT services, has expanded its customer relations team with the appointment of two new helpdesk engineers.

Andrew Batchelor has joined as a first line engineer from Minster Law, in Wakefield, where he held a similar position, and Kyle Hodgson has come on board as a second line engineer from a similar company.

Both will be part of team diagnosing and resolving a wide range of technical support issues as well as performing routine maintenance, service requests and other IT management functions.

Andrew, 34, lives near Knottingley and studied IT at Wakefield College having previously worked as a chef for seven years with the Ask Italian restaurant chain at its eateries in Wetherby and Castleford.

Kyle, 30, lives in Wistow, near Selby, and studied IT at York College. His technology career began with brand and buying group Nisa at its headquarters in Scunthorpe, after several years working in technical sales.

Kyle said:

I’m really thrilled to have joined Vital as it’s a business that is continuing to grow, not only, its managed services, but web design and hosted telecoms as well; and my new role will let me work on some of the most complex IT issues in Yorkshire and beyond.

Lee Evans, managing director of Vital Technology Group, said:

Andrew and Kyle are great additions to the Vital team and both will play a really important part in helping the company to be even more efficient in the way it handles customers’ technical support issues.
