Charity boost as Mayor’s Ball sells out

16 March 2017

News that tickets for the Mayor of Harrogate’s Magical Spring Ball have completely sold out a month before the event has been greeted with delight.

The Mayor, Coun Nick Brown, said: The committee and I are all overjoyed by the support we have received from people from across the district and it was extremely encouraging that tickets sold so quickly.

The event on Saturday 8 April 2017 will see Harrogate’s Old Swan Hotel transformed into Wonderland for the Mayor’s Magical Spring Ball, which will feature an Alice in Wonderland theme.

The Mayor’s nominated charities, Harrogate Homeless Project, Saint Michael’s Hospice, Harrogate Choral Society, Ripon Cathedral Concert Society and the Northern Aldborough Festival, will all receive a share of the proceeds.

Chief executive of Saint Michael’s, Tony Collins, said: We are delighted to be a beneficiary of this event and are grateful to Coun Brown, for showing his support for his local hospice in this way.

Every day people across the Harrogate district need vital care at the end of their lives.

Funds raised through events, like this ball, enable Saint Michael’s to reach out and support more of these individuals and their families.

We would like to thank Coun Brown, his committee, the event sponsors, the people taking tables and those providing auction prizes for everything they are doing to help more local people affected by terminal illness to get the care they need.

A host of “Alice” themed surprises are promised at the Ball, starting with a “Drink Me” reception, along with a special menu, live and silent auctions and dancing to award-winning band, Vibetown.
