VIPs and experts set for YBM

6 March 2017

The 13th annual Yorkshire Business Market will be opened by Roger Marsh OBE, Chair of the Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP).

Taking place at Pavilions of Harrogate on Monday, April 24, the event will focus on the City Region’s many start-up and growing businesses.

As well as exhibition space filled with leading Yorkshire SMEs, a full-day seminar programme will see practical advice given to visitors on everything from driving business growth to making more sales on LinkedIn.

Mark Lancaster, chairman of the YBM organising committee, said: Organisations like the LEP give a real boost to new businesses as they get off the ground and to established businesses as they want to grow.

It’s therefore very fitting that Roger Marsh has agreed to come and visit YBM this year. After officially opening the doors, he will tour the aisles and find out about the many success stories on show across the Harrogate district and beyond.

YBM regularly attracts VIP visitors, so it’s a great opportunity for an ambitious business to catch the eye of one of the region’s high flyers. Who knows where it may lead?

This year’s seminar programme offers short, snappy sessions with practical advice for business owners to implement immediately. Speakers will cover topics including using LinkedIn to make more sales, and how to make the most of networking opportunities.

Meanwhile, exhibition space is filling up quickly. Those already confirmed to attend include long-standing exhibitors, as well as new businesses aiming to capitalise on the opportunity to meet hundreds of visitors in one day.

Mark added: Interest in YBM has been even higher this year than in the last few years. The feeling we get from this is one of confidence and an expectation of growth: it shows the region’s economy is faring well and businesses are thriving.

A handful of stalls are still available in each size, from micro-stands for start-ups to large spaces for established businesses.
