Harrogate Film Festival comes to town

17 October 2016

Adam Chandler, a former pupil of Harrogate High School, has put together ambitious plans for a Harrogate film festival.

The aim is to become a town event in 2017, the festival will stage unique and innovative events around  Harrogate between 3 – 5 March, using a variety of different venues to showcase cinema.

The festival will be holding a number of ‘warm-up’ events in 2016 so you can find out what we are all about and join in with the experience – these are not to be missed!

On Sunday 20 November 2016 the festival will visit Ashville College where we screen Ghostbusters.

Bring your children along as we take them on a ghost walk, create some arts and crafts and give out a prize for the best dressed ghost before screening this classic in Ashville’s new Soothill Hall.

Something for the adults, we will be taking over the Restaurant Bar & Grill on 24 November to 2016 screen Ocean’s Eleven. Come on down to the casino suited and booted, enjoy a three course meal and dish the dosh on the casino tables to a live band before watching this classic.

Finally, on the 4 December 2016  they will hold Agatha Afternoon at the Old Swan Hotel on the 70th anniversary of her disappearance to the exact date. Come down in your best frock and enjoy the atmosphere as we screen one of the best novels, Murder on the Orient Express.

Events will be held across the town fro, such as workshops for filmmakers and actors, screening independent cinema from around the world and also a number of events around this year’s festival theme – the future of film.
