Wetherby estate agency’s new initiative looks just the business for promoting local companies

20 September 2016

An estate agency has unveiled a new community initiative aimed at supporting fellow independent businesses in Wetherby.

Linley & Simpson has joined forces with seven neighbouring companies in the market town to launch a loyalty card scheme.

It will enable all new clients of the residential sales and letting agency – which recently moved from Westgate to a bigger base at North Street – to access discounts from a range of shops and suppliers – boosting the local economy as a result.

Wetherby is the first of Linley & Simpson’s 11 offices across West and North Yorkshire – which also include Harrogate and Ripon – to trial the campaign and, if it proves successful, will be rolled out across its whole branch network.

Among the first group of Wetherby businesses who have thrown their weight behind the partnership are Pretty in Paint; Wetherby Acupuncture; Kool Kidz; Parkhill Veterinary Surgery; The Barefoot Gallery; Principal Fitness and Sandersons Removals & Storage.

Branch manager Steve Kilby said:

There is no shortage of excellent ‘home grown’ businesses here in Wetherby and its surrounding villages and we are delighted to be able to support them in this way.

The loyalty card is a way of promoting their goods and services to all our new customers, many of whom are relocating to the area to buy or rent a new home.

There is something for everybody with the savings and offers that the local businesses – all independents – have put forward to ensure the idea gets off to a flying start. Even discounts for pet dogs, cats and rabbits too!

Wetherby is a thriving community and we are proud not just to be at the heart of it – but also to be able to give something back to its residents and businesses in this way. We hope to add more and more businesses as the initiative gathers pace.
