Owner and dog attacked by Pit Bull while dog walking in Harrogate

A man and his dog has been injured following a reported attack from a pit bull dog in Harrogate.

The incident happened at about 8.45pm on the 12 July 2016 and took place on the path that runs alongside Fishers School, towards the Yorkshire Showground.

A dog walker was walking his dog along the track, with their dog on a lead, when a pit bull, not on a lead, attacked and pinned his dog down. The owner then tried to remove the pit bull that then turned on him.

The owner of the Pit Bull then approached, put his dog on a lead and quickly left. Both the dog and owner were left injured and covered in blood.

The injured dog was taken to the emergency vets was retained for treatment and the man attended Accident and Emergency with puncture wounds to his arms.
