Harrogate Ladies’ College welcomed UK E-Safety expert, Karl Hopwood to school last week to talk to pupils, parents and staff about how to stay safe on-line.
Karl Hopwood is one of the UK’s leading E-Safety experts and is a member of the UK Council for Child Internet Safety (UKCCIS). He also sits on the advisory board for the UK Safer Internet Centre and the Education Advisory Board for CEOP.
Karl spent the day at Harrogate Ladies’ College delivering a series of interactive talks to pupils, parents and staff about how to develop safe on-line behaviour.
Senior Deputy Head, Richard Tillett said:
The internet is an amazing resource for teaching and learning, as well as social interaction. There are however many potential dangers associated with internet usage. Our aim is to make sure that our pupils really understand the dangers and how to protect themselves from them. Karl’s talks were incredibly useful, equipping parents, pupils and staff with the knowledge and resources they need to stay safe on-line.
