Police and Crime Commissioner nominations for North Yorkshire

Nominations closed at 16:00 Thursday 7 April 2016 for nominations for North Yorkshire police and crime commissioner elections (PCC).

The role of the PCCs is to be the voice of the people and hold the police to account. They are responsible for the totality of policing. PCCs aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their force area.

Four nominations have been received:

  • James Christopher Blanchard – Liberal Democrat
  • Mike Pannett – Independent
  • Julia Rosemary Mulligan – The Conservative Party
  • Stephen Howley Sherburn-in-Elmet – Labour Party

The public will have the opportunity to vote on 5 May 2016.
