New features set to draw crowds at 2016 business market

5 February 2016

A Google Digital Garage will be among the new features at the 12th annual Yorkshire Business Market thanks to a partnership with the global giant, facilitated by Leeds City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.

Helping businesses to reach new customers online, the Google Garage will be the focus of a new Digital Café area where visitors can also pick up the latest tips from local experts in the field.

It will take place at 2pm, as part of a full day of seminars, workshops, exhibition stands and networking at Yorkshire Business Market at Pavilions of Harrogate on Monday, April 18.

The Chamber’s Focus Group Leader Phil Holmes of OfficeTech Supplies, said:

The Google Garage is a new initiative from the world’s biggest digital organisation, so it is a real coup to have it at Yorkshire Business Market this year.

Businesses with a strong online presence perform significantly better than those without, but many business owners and managers are unsure of how to boost their digital presence. This seminar is the perfect way to begin a digital tune-up and pick up the skills you need to make a real, practical difference to your business.

Meanwhile, exhibitor space is filling up as companies secure their places at this very effective business-to-business promotion event. A range of options are available, ranging from large spaces for established businesses at £590 to new micro -spaces for one-person businesses costing just £190 plus VAT.

Anyone booking their place and paying the fee before the end of February will be able to choose their preferred location in the exhibition halls. The event is organised by YBM Ltd on behalf of Harrogate Chamber of Trade and Commerce, many of whose members are long-standing exhibitors at the event.

Chamber Chief Executive Brian Dunsby said:

We know many businesses from across the region come to Harrogate to establish new contacts and catch up with existing clients at the annual Yorkshire Business Market, as well as learning new skills through our seminar programme.

We are continuing to offer that opportunity this year, and the new Digital Café and Google Garage recognise the needs of business leaders in 2016 and beyond. We are speaking to several other potential partners about bringing their expertise to Yorkshire Business Market this year, and we would like to hear from any other organisations who want to know more about our partnership opportunities.

Our aim is to make Yorkshire Business Market a really valuable event where businesses can develop in many different ways, all in one place and on one day.

Stands are now being taken by businesses from across Yorkshire and anyone interested in exhibiting is advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

Visitors can attend for free but are asked to register in advance by emailing info@yorkshirebusinessmarket.org. The full seminar programme will be released shortly, with some events requiring pre-booking, and anyone interested should get in touch to be kept informed.
