Lowestoft Town 1 – 2 Harrogate Town

18 October 2015

Harrogate Town put themselves in good heart for next Saturday’s tasty F A Cup clash with Grimsby Town, when they carved out an excellent victory over Lowestoft Town.

Harrogate, who were again unchanged, dominated the first half hour and took the lead on sixteen minutes when Brendan Daniels took advantage of Adam Smith’s misplaced back pass to slot the ball past keeper, Harry Burgoyne.
Dominic Knowles nearly added a second, when his header from a Daniels corner came back off the bar.

The Trawlermen fought back strongly and Peter Crook did well to tip a Harry Barker shot over the bar and shortly afterwards, Ross Jarvis had a header scrambled off the line.

Lowestoft’s pressure finally paid off after thirtyeight minutes when Jake Reed turned in a Danny Crow shot.

The introduction of Jack Emmett for Daniels on fifty minutes gave Town an injection of pace, but it took Harrogate until six minutes from time to break the deadlock and secure victory.

Lewis Turner’s shot from Joe Colbeck’s pass rebounded to Emmett who stabbed into the corner of Lowestoft’s net to keep Town third in the National North table.
