30 August 2015

Over 50k passengers will fly from the airport over the weekend.

Leeds Bradford Airport will be experiencing its busiest ever weekend over the Bank Holiday as passengers go in search of a last minute summer holiday or weekend break.

With record breaking passenger numbers expected flying to over 40 destinations across 14 countries the airport is ready to welcome over 50k travelling through the terminal.

Popular destinations for families looking for the last chance to jet off before the children go back to school are Spain, Portugal, Canaries and Greece.

Tony Hallwood Leeds Bradford Airports Aviation Development Director said:

Leeds Bradford’s growth in passenger numbers continues to prove that Yorkshire holidaymakers and travellers want to fly close to home rather than having to risk traffic delays and congestion on the motorway network flying from other airports.

With our wide choice of destinations and airlines linked to our continued investment in our passenger facilities we are increasingly becoming the first choice for travellers wishing to fly abroad on holiday or for a city break.
