Harrogate Grammar School’s disastrous school trip to France

1 July 2015

60 Year Seven pupils from Harrogate Grammar School have been forced to return home during a school trip to Le Touquet in France.

The children were travelling by ferry on Monday (29 June 15).

But just a mile away from Calais, they were forced to turn around as a strike came into force.

The ferry then had to wait a number of hours until space became available at a very busy Dover port.

The children ended up in a London hotel over night, before travelling back by coach to Harrogate.

As the coach travelled North, there was one final twist, with the coach breaking down on the motorway.

The children are reported to have had a great time though!
