Green light for Harrogate Soap Box Derby

29 May 2015

The Harrogate and District Round Table are all set to run the 2nd Soap Box Derby on 8 August 2015.

Taking place in Harrogate’s Valley Gardens, the event will see up to 25 soap box cars complete a timed run from near the Pinewoods, down to the Café. The course has been extended from last year, promising to give even more thrills and spills.

The cars travel by gravity alone and have to negotiate chicanes along the way.

Round Table organiser, James Pickard said: The event is a great free family day out, it helps builds teams and is all in aid charity.

At the moment we are looking for team entries. We can have a maximum of 25 and expect the spaces to all go.

We would encourage teams to enter now so as to give time to build the soap boxes.

The day promises to be adrenaline-fueled and a lot of fun!

There is a minimum driver age of 16 and a minimum donations of £100 per car (£25 per person and 4 drivers)

Entrants can arrive from 8am on the morning, racing will start at 10am and will run through until around 4pm.

To enter, email James Pickard james.pickard@harrogateroundtable.co.uk
