ASDA staff supporting Pinewoods planting project

29 May 2015

A further 1000 wild flowers have been added to the green community space at Irongate Field created by the Pinewoods Conservation Group (PCG). The plants, funded by the ASDA Foundation, were planted by volunteers from the PCG and employees of ASDA Harrogate.

Angela Smith, Community Life Champion at ASDA Harrogate said:We know this is an important project for the Pinewoods Conservation Group and the local community.

As such we were really pleased to be able to fund these new plants through the ASDA Foundation and to have colleagues helping to plant on the day.

PCG Chairman Neil Hind added: This is phase 2 of the work we started last year that saw picnic benches, trees and areas of wild flowers being added to the site.

These additional wildflowers were planted in areas prepared last year and will further enhance the site.

We would really encourage people to come for a visit to see the progress being made.

Further work is planned on the field to include further planting and the installation of bug magnifier.
