More appointments at “booming” Consumer Credit Compliance

A thriving Harrogate business has added two new staff members to its head count as clients continue to flock its way.

CCC (Consumer Credit Compliance) – launched just over 12 months ago by compliance expert Ian Beardmore – has appointed Bridget Spence as a senior client engagement manager whilst Rachael Doyle joins the firm as a compliance account manager.

Following the Financial Conduct Authority taking over credit licensing last April from the Office of Fair Trading, the business – located in the spa town’s Windsor House – is now working with more than 400 different companies requiring a new “permission”.

And, with companies unable to submit an application within a pre-determined timescale being barred from offering any form of credit to potential and customers, clients are beating a path to the CCC door.

CCC clients include credit brokers, retailers, lenders, debt management and debt collection firms as well as many other industry sectors.

Mr Beardmore, who started the business with IT expert David Petty, said: There are tens-of-thousands of companies requiring FCA permission, and, for many, the task is too time consuming and complicated to manage on their own, hence them turning to us.

From it being just David and me, CCC now boasts a 15 strong team, and, because business is booming, it won’t be long before we are recruiting again.

We are being inundated by requests for our specialist services from firms the length and breadth of the UK. These range from sole traders to multi-nationals and they come from every industry that offers credit terms.

I’m delighted to welcome Bridget and Rachael to the team, which has grown like topsy over the last six months.

In addition to servicing our existing clients, we also need to ensure we can look after the compliance needs of new business as it arrives through the door, hence these three appointments.

And, in order to accommodate our growing workforce, we have expanded into two offices within Windsor House. This will give us the flexibility we need to comfortably increase the CCC team without the worry of looking for a new base.

Mr Petty said: Ian’s compliance expertise is the underlying reason why we are attracting new clients on a daily basis.

They understand that applying for a new permission is anything but a quick, easy two minute job, and it’s best to let the experts do it for them.

The submission process is complicated, it is time consuming and some can take up to eight weeks to finalise.
