Fire crews were called to a house on Kings road in Harrogate this afternoon – 30 November 2014.
At around 14:52, fire crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough stations attended a fire to the ground floor of a terraced residential property.
Three fire engines and an aerial ladder platform were in attendance.
The fire was confined to approximately 2 square metres of personal belongings in a ground floor bedroom. There was also light smoke damage throughout the property.
Two men were in the property at the time of the fire. One managed to escape but the second was led to safety by fire fighters and was taken to hospital by ambulance for a precautionary check up.
Two fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to put out the fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to ensure that the fire was completely out and the building vented with a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove smoke .
The cause is under investigation but not believed to be suspicious.
