Serious motorcycle collision at Embsay

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward following a serious road traffic collision near Skipton.

It occurred at around 3.55pm on Sunday 29 June 2014, on Skipton Road, Embsay, involving a motorcycle with a sidecar.

As a result of the collision the motorcycle, which had been travelling from Embsay towards Skipton, left the road before going through a hedge.

The man riding the motorbike and a man who was the passenger in the sidecar were taken to Airedale General Hospital. The extent of their injuries is not yet known.

Traffic Constable Ken Riley, of the Force’s Roads Policing Group, said: If you witnessed the collision, or saw the motorbike and sidecar prior to the incident, I ask you to contact the police straight away, as you may have vital details which could help my enquiry.
