Harrogate print specialist to speak at industry event

26 June 2014

Mark Plummer of Harrogate print firm, Platinum, has been invited to speak at a leading print industry event, Forward Thinking Printing in London in July 2014.

The event is hosted by Print Business Magazine and is attended by around 100 representatives from the top printing companies in the UK. Mark Plummer, who in January became managing director of Platinum Print will be speaking on the latest advances in the H-UV curing process which enables print to dry quicker to achieve a more rapid end result. Platinum became the first UK company to invest in the four-colour Komori Lithrone S429 press, investing £750,000 in the new ground-breaking technology earlier this year. Mark will be discussing the impact the new press has made on the business and taking part in a panel session with other leading print specialists.

Mark said: We are especially proud to be amongst the leading end-users of new print technology in the UK and we are pleased that this new technology adds further to our green credentials with its reduced electrical requirements, lower emissions & elimination of spray powder on the shopfloor.

Platinum Print was founded by husband and wife team, David and Marina Wyvill, 25 years ago and its client base is spread throughout Yorkshire and includes Engage Mutual, the iconic Betty’s/Taylors confectionary and tea shop chain, multi-dealership vehicle company JCT600, Leeds Rhinos Rugby League Club and Yorkshire Wildlife. The company now operates from an 18,000 sq. ft. factory on the outskirts of Harrogate, employs 28 staff and turns over £3.2million annually. In the last twelve months it recorded an 8% increase in turnover and it is targeting a 15% increase in the next year.
