Break-in at Harrogate jewellers

Harrogate police are appealing for witnesses and information following an attempted break-in at a jeweller’s store.
Between midnight on Wednesday 28 May 2014 into the early hours of Thursday 29 May, burglars attempted to break in to Montpellier Antiques on Montpellier Mews, using a pick-axe handle and beer barrel.

Fortunately, they failed to get into the property and nothing was stolen, although they caused a considerable amount of damage to the door of the shop.

Police believe the suspects were loitering in the area prior to the incident and are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard any suspicious activity, to contact them.
