Explore Castles, costume and Yorkshire through art this Easter at Harrogate Museums and Arts

At Knaresborough Castle – Enjoy a visit to the remains of the medieval castle set towering over the River Nidd – take a tour to explore the dungeon, secret exit tunnel and King’s Tower. In the museum find out about 18th century local Eugene Aram – was he a murderer? Discover the 350 year old bloodstained shirt of Knaresborough’s Sir Henry Slingsby and enjoy our hands-on Life in a Castle gallery.

To celebrate the Easter holidays you can complete our Easter trail to get a chocolate prize!

You can come in for just £1 on Monday 7 April 2014 and also make a medieval pendant on Tuesday 15 April 2014 in the Castle grounds. Cost is £2, just drop in between 12.30pm and 3.30pm.

Knaresborough Castle and Museum will be open daily from Friday 4 April, 11am until 4pm with a small admission charge.

In Harrogate – At the Mercer Art Gallery and Royal Pump Room Museum there’s another Easter trail with chocolate on offer again, if you visit both venues to complete the trail!

Enjoy exhibitions of historic costume, sculpture and, from 12th April, over 100 works of art celebrating Yorkshire and Yorkshire artists.

On Tuesday 8 April 2014 drop in to the Royal Pump Room Museum between 1pm and 4pm to make a finger puppet, just £1 on top of usual admission.
