Fatal collision near Harrogate – victim named

Police investigating a collision near Harrogate have named the man who died and released a statement and picture on behalf of the family.

Simon-ParsonsIt occurred at around 5.10pm on Sunday 9 February 2014, approximately five miles out of Harrogate towards Skipton, near to the entrance of High Moor Farm Caravan Park, involving a gold Honda CRV and a black Triumph Daytona motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to Harrogate District Hospital, where he was sadly pronounced dead.

He was Simon Parsons, who was aged 25 and from Harrogate.

Lynn and Keith Parsons, Simon’s mum and dad, spoke on behalf of the family. They said:

The last few days have shown us that Simon, the eldest of our two sons, was a well loved and extremely popular young man.

He had achieved so much for us to be proud of in his short life, and will always be remembered and forever in our hearts.

The inquest is expected to be opened and adjourned week commencing Monday 17 February 2014.
