Dan Clayton returns to Town

4 February 2014

Rejoining Harrogate Town for the second time is left winger Dan Clayton.

Dan, 20, has signed until the end of next season from Skrill North rivals North Ferriby United and we are very pleased to have him back in the squad.

Speaking about Dan’s return, manager Simon Weaver said: I am really pleased to get Dan back. He went to Gainsborough and North Ferriby to get some games and develop his skills and has certainly achieved both! He has come back to us a much more developed and focused player and will be a great asset to the squad.

Dan originally joined the club in December 2011 and made his debut against Ossett Albion in the West Riding County Cup in January 2012.

His first goal was worth waiting for when he scored with a rocket against Worcester City in September 2012. He saved his second strike for a crucial time, when he scored an extra time winner against Hyde FC in the 4th Qualifying round of the FA cup to set up a mouth-watering rematch against Torquay United in the 1st round proper.

In all, Dan has made 21 appearances for Harrogate Town scoring 2 goals.
