Police investigate New Year’s Eve burglary in Harrogate

Detectives investigating a burglary near Harrogate on New Year’s Eve are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sometime during the evening of Tuesday 31 December 2013, thieves broke into a property on Wreaks Road in Birstwith while the occupants were out, and took an iPad, a pair of cufflinks, some rings and a quantity of cash.

Officers are appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the village on New Year’s Eve to get in touch. They would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered any of the stolen property.

Anyone who can help officers with their enquiries is urged to contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 – select option 2 – and ask for Detective Constable Fiona Ayre or Harrogate CID.
