Multiple collisions following theft of car in Knaresborough

Knaresborough – between 5.30am and 5.50am on Saturday 9 November 2013, a BMW was stolen from Cheapside in Knaresborough.

The car was then involved in a collision at around 5.50am on Knaresborough High Street near the bus station, during which a sign post, salt bin and flower barrel were damaged.

The vehicle drove off from the area and returned a short time later and collided with a parked Vauxhall Corsa on Fisher Street, which then hit another parked car.

Police are also investigating the possibility that the vehicle collided with a Renault Clio on Charlton Manor Drive.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed any of the incidents or saw a BMW driving around the area early on Saturday morning, to contact them.

A 21-year-old man from the local area was arrested in connection with the incidents and has been given conditional police bail while the investigation continues.
