CCTV issued as hunt for Harrogate robbery suspects continues

Police have issued CCTV images of two men and a car they wish to identify in connection with a robbery in Harrogate.

At around 12.10pm on Thursday 5 September 2013, three men in a maroon coloured Ford Focus pulled up near Mayfield Stores on Mayfield Grove in Harrogate.

As staff were unloading cigarettes from a van into the store, two men from the Focus approached the van while staff were distracted and began to remove cigarettes from the vehicle.

A member of staff challenged the suspects at which point they pushed her out of the way. The woman fell to the floor and was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to an arm injury. No weapons were involved in the incident.

The suspects stole around £500 worth of cigarettes and tobacco products as they left the scene in the Ford Focus.

Police have issued images of two men who they would like to speak to. The first man is described approximately 30 years old, well built and stocky. He was wearing a blue anorak, black cap and dark coloured trousers.

The second man is described as white, of slim build, around 5ft 10in and aged around 25. He was wearing a blue and white checked top, dark trousers and a dark coloured cap.

Officers are appealing for anyone who can help identify the men and the owners of the vehicle to get in touch.
