Harrogate interiors business secures Ralph Lauren ‘coup’

28 September 2013

Richard Grafton Interiors has secured an exclusive deal to become the only retailer in the North of England to stock the Ralph Lauren Home furniture collection.

The Harrogate-based design store and studio opened negotiations with the world famous fashion and lifestyle house after meeting representatives at a Paris interiors show in September last year.

Richard said:

It is a real coup for a newly established interiors firm to gain approval from Ralph Lauren Paris, and we’re delighted that our approach and ethos fits with their brand.

The range of furniture, fabric and wall coverings is really exciting, and to be the only appointed furniture retailer in the whole of the North is a real achievement for us as a business.

Richard Grafton Interiors was launched in April 2012 and has already announced a number of acquisitions and joint ventures that helped it to top £1m in year one revenues and to grow its team to 10 staff within its first 12 months.

This is the first major international deal to come from a series of regular buying trips to France and Italy, but the company has already established a number of smaller supplier relationships in the Paris and Rome markets.

Richard added:

We set out to bring unusual and striking design to our showrooms and to Yorkshire homes and we’re seeing the rewards from the hard work we have undertaken to dig out the best designer ranges.

“We had a flying start in our first year in business, thanks to a loyal following and our talented design team. To add such an exclusive range to our showroom here is just the launch pad we need for our second year in business.

A selection of the Ralph Lauren Home 2013 furniture range will be on display at Richard Grafton’s 3,000 sq ft three-storey showrooms at The Ginnel in Harrogate’s Montpellier Quarter from the end of September.
