Police issue image of Harrogate vodka theft suspect

Harrogate police have released an image of a man following an act of shoplifting in the town.

It occurred at around 8pm on Friday 26 July 2013, at the Co-op Store, Grantley Drive.

A man entered the shop before picking up two bottles of Smirnoff Vodka and leaving the premises without paying for them.

The suspect is described as a white man, around 5ft 9in tall, with a medium build and short dark brown hair.

PC Mark Weir, of Harrogate Safer Neighbourhood Team, said:

If you recognise the man caught on camera, I ask that you come forward and contact the police straight away.

It may be that the man in the image is not responsible for the theft. If this is the case, I urge him to contact the police straight away so that he can be eliminated from our enquiries.
