Warning after Knaresborough burglaries

17 September 2013

Over the recent weeks there have been a number of house burglaries within the residential estates of Knaresborough and the out laying villages.

The offenders have been targeting houses where vehicles have been the primary target. Whilst the vehicles have been the target, there have been a few incidents where the offenders have taken small electrical items such as iPads, laptops, mobile phones. The target houses have been empty at the time of the offences.

Whilst this has been a traumatic time for the victims, North Yorkshire Police have been successful in recovering some of the stolen vehicles but would appreciate the public’s help in capturing the offenders and stolen property by passing any information on that may help us.

Police are interested in any information of suspicious vehicles, persons, unwanted door to door sales people who have been seen in the areas. If you believe a crime is being committed or someone is acting suspiciously around your property or a neighbours please call 999, for non-emergencies please call 101.

To speak to a local officer in relation to security advice in relation to houses, out buildings, vehicles and personal security please contact North Yorkshire Police on 101 and at option 2 request PCSO 3537.

To pass on any information in relation to the burglaries please contact DC1980 Chris Spackman on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
