We’re proud to be associated with such a prestigious event and are very much looking forward to the Grand Finale.

Once again, the programme for this year’s festival is really outstanding and very varied, with events taking place at venues across the district.

Ripon International Festival begins on Thursday, September 5 and includes classical and folk concerts, literary celebrities, theatrical performances and enchanting shows for children. Now in its 16 th year, the festival counts the Archbishop of York among its patrons and the acclaimed actor and director Sir Derek Jacobi as its president.

The concert at the Royal Hall, Harrogate, on September 21 by Royal Northern Sinfonia conducted by Janusz Piotrowicz, will feature Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream, Beethoven’s Violin Concerto and Brahms’ First Symphony. The Orchestra will be joined by violinist Alexandra Soumm who gave a sensational sell-out performance at the festival’s Spring Concert last year.

Festival director Susan Goldsbrough said:

We really do value the support of our corporate sponsors, which enables us to put on such a fantastic programme.

We’re very excited about this year’s festival and especially the Grand Finale, which will be a very fitting end to our 16 th year.
