Final preparations are well under way for a North Yorkshire inn’s annual music and beer festival.
Thousands of visitors are expected to descend on the T&R Theakston-owned White Bear Hotel, in Masham, for the three-day event which begins on the afternoon of Friday, June 21.
In addition to the full Theakstons range on tap at the popular inn, real ale connoisseurs will be treated to a further 30 beers from breweries around the country.
The musical entertainment is being provided by five acts, two of which enjoyed last year’s festival so much they’ve come back for more this weekend. There will be something for everyone with jazz, blues, and rock music all covered in the eclectic line-up.
Sue Thomas, General Manager of the White Bear Hotel, said:
Our beer festival began as a small scale celebration of Yorkshire’s favourite liquid 12 years ago, and has become a major three-day event, attracting thousands of people from far and wide.
It has become a firm fixture on both ours and Masham’s calendar, and one that sees scores of familiar faces returning year after year.
This year’s White Bear Beer Festival will be our biggest and best to date. We have a magnificent selection of cask ales, including some superb beers brewed here, in Masham.
Our musical lineup is our strongest yet, and the acts will definitely have feet tapping throughout the weekend. We also have a brilliant cooperage display by Jonathan Manby, Theakston’s Cooper.
The weekend is very much a family-orientated affair and admission is free. On the Friday and the Saturday there is a hog roast, whilst on the Sunday our chefs are cooking a barbecue.
The entertainment lineup is as follows:
Friday night; The Conspirators
Saturday; Kelsey Main, Broken Empire and 3ft Ninjas.
Sunday – Mike Green
