Witness appeal following Haxby collision leaving man in critical condition

PoliceYork police are appealing for witnesses following a single vehicle collision in the city.

It occurred at 5.40pm on Wednesday 1 May 2013, on York Road, Haxby, when a Citroen C3 collided with a road sign.

As a result on the incident the 76-year-old local man driving the car was taken to York District Hospital where he currently remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 74-year-old woman, who was a passenger, was also taken to York District Hospital where she was treated before being released.

Traffic Sergeant Pete Wood, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

If you witnessed the collision or saw the Citroen prior to the incident, I ask you to contact the police as soon as possible.
