Police are investigating following the sudden death of a man believed to be in his 60s, outside Harrogate Police Station on Sunday 28 April 2013.

A man’s body was found by an officer in the visitor’s car park at around 4.20pm.

Officers are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, however they do not believe that is was suspicious.

Nobody else is being sought in connection with the incident.

The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.

A firearm was recovered from the scene of the incident.

Harrogate Police station is currently closed to the public and people are asked to visit Craven Lodge, on Victoria Avenue, or call 101 if they would like to report a crime or speak to an officer.
