Boy seriously injured following collision with coach

PoliceA 14-year old boy has been seriously injured in a traffic incident.

It occurred at 4.25pm on Thursday 21 March 2013, outside the main gates of the Menwith Hill airbase on the outskirts of Harrogate.

The collision involved a boy from the Barnoldswick area of Lancashire, who was a pedestrian and a coach.

As a result of the incident the boy suffered serious injuries and was taken by air ambulance to James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough, where he currently remains in a critical but stable condition.

The road was closed for approximately five hours following the collision.

Traffic Sergeant Dave Willey, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said:

I need to speak to anyone who may have been at the scene and ask that they contact the police if they haven’t already done so.
