Andrew Meehan appointed President of Harrogate and District Law Society

14 February 2013

Andrew Meehan, founder and managing director of Harrogate Family Law, has been elected as the new President of the Harrogate and District Law Society.

Mr Meehan, a former chairman of Resolution in West and North Yorkshire and who was recently named as our region’s leading matrimonial solicitor by the leading legal directory Chambers, takes over the role from Deborah Boylan of Raworths Solicitors.

Andrew said:

It is a great honour to accept such a prestigious role within an organisation that has represented the local legal profession for some 100 years, particularly at a time when we are facing many far reaching changes in legislation, not least in the field of family law.

I am very much looking forward to representing local practitioners and raising issues of local concern on their behalf at national level.

As the head of a busy law firm I am committed to the ongoing training and development of those within the profession and I believe the Harrogate and District Law Society has an important role to play in sharing best practice and determining how the latest changes can be applied to lawyers working in our region.
