Bidding on the Harrogate Igloo closed this evening raising £571 with the ebay sale. A further £1725 has been raised with a just giving page, taking the total to just under £2,300.

Money raised will go directly to Yorkshire Cancer Research.

The igloo was the idea of Craig Parker, who has himself fought cancer, with support from a number of his friends. The friends built the igloo on the open-space of the  Harrogate Stray in Harrogate.

Daniel Rigg of  Strutt & Parker said:

We were honoured to help out with such a worthy cause and onn a personal note, I am very proud of my friends for their amazing achievement!

The igloo is described as a beautifully presented and smartly appointed ground floor stand alone studio apartment with huge garden overlooking the Stray.
