Rachel was a gifted and dedicated doctor, who was in the middle of her training. A very promising medical career has been cut tragically short. She was one of the finest doctors I have ever worked with.

All the staff and patients who knew Rachel will remember her for her caring nature, with a smile and a friendly word for everyone. The thoughts of everyone at the Hospital are with her family and friends at this very difficult time and we are offering every support we can to our staff.

  1. I worked with Rachel during my time as a medical registrar at Leeds. I was lucky enough to become a friend. I can only echo the words of others and say that she was one of the finest doctors you would ever meet. She was also one of the finest human beings I have ever met. She possessed so many attributes it is impossible to list them all but optimism, happiness, courage, tenacity, humility, intelligence, honesty, kindness and humour would be just a start. She treasured her family as they treasured her and was a constant source of inspiration to her friends. As well as being an accomplished climber and outdoorswoman, she was a super fit runner, musician and had a beautiful singing voice. She used all these talents to enrich the lives of those around her and despite her obvious brilliance remained humble, likeable and approachable. She was the rarest of human beings who shone very brightly for her short life and will always be missed by those lucky enough to have met her. My thoughts are with her family in this most distressing of times. God bless you Rachel.
