BBC TV series featuring Harrogate win major award

10 January 2013

TV presenter and author, Sarah Raven wants to save our pollinators with insect friendly flower power. And last year she sought the support of Harrogate in Bloom to take part in a BBC2 series ‘Bees Butterflies and Blooms’ to get the country buzzing!

That programme has just won the Horticultural Channel’s award for Television Series of the Year.

Pam Grant, President of Harrogate in Bloom, is pleased that Sarah’s efforts have been recognised in this way.

Pam Grant added:

We were really pleased to work with Sarah and her team as they followed us and Harrogate Council’s Parks Team over twelve months showcasing how we work together and, in particular, what we are doing to attract insects which are so vital for plant life. We can all do our bit to help save our precious pollinators.
