Thigh slapping good fun at the Harrogate Panto

18 December 2012

The Harrogate Theatre panto is well under way again, this year featuring Jack and the Beanstalk.

It has all the essential ingredients of a good pantomime.

The story begins in the Forest with the Good Fairy of the Forest (Polly Lister) setting the scene before Simple Simon (Tim Stedman) starts to get the audience buzzing.

Fleshcreep played by Philip Stewart is suitably scary and also manages to bust the moves in the dance routines when needed.

They have clearly put a lot of time and attention into the beanstalk. When it sprouts and grows the effects are impressive and really quite dramatic.

The pace and energy is maintained throughout the show, punctuated with great and current songs. The delivery is punchy and never loses its way.

The appeal is not just for the little ones and the gags manage to keeps the children as well as the adults engaged throughout.

Highly recommended and great fun for all the family.
