One last chance to strictly for charity… so take your partners

9 November 2012

Fans of hit BBC television show Strictly Come Dancing have just a few weeks left to book tickets to have a go for real and raise money for their local Hospice.

Strictly Saint Michael’s, to be held on Friday November 23 at the Cairn Hotel, Harrogate, is a great opportunity for anyone with dreams of becoming the next Harry Judd or Alesha Dixon to see if they’ve got what it takes to be a hit on the dance floor.

But with the event fast approaching organisers are urging people to get their tickets now or face missing out on this glittering evening of dinner and ballroom dancing.

Chief Executive of Saint Michael’s Tony Collins said:

People love the glitz and the glamour of Strictly Come Dancing and it’s something we really wanted to recreate.

But we didn’t want to make it a competition, more of an opportunity for anyone with a love of dance to have a go. It really doesn’t matter if you’ve never danced before in your life.

The important thing is that you come along, enjoy yourself and support a fantastic cause in your community.

Guests will enjoy a two course meal, have the opportunity to learn some new moves from a professional teacher and get the chance to show off their footwork on Harrogate’s only sprung-dancefloor.

There will also be live music by Betty’s pianist Jackie Criss and a luxury prize draw.

The event raises money for Saint Michael’s, the local charity that provides care and support for people across the Harrogate District affected terminal illness and bereavement.

Saint Michael’s receives less than 20 per cent of its annual running costs from the NHS and therefore relies heavily on voluntary contributions from the local community and fundraising events, like Strictly Saint Michael’s, to maintain its specialist services.

One in four of our patients are also cared for thanks to a gift left in someone’s will.

Tickets for Strictly Saint Michaels cost £35 each or £400 per table of 12.
