Appeal to trace wanted York man

9 October 2012

York police are urging the public to help locate a man wanted for recall to prison.

Adam Luke Reynard, 20, was sent to prison for 27 months in November 2010, for assault and burglary which he committed in June and July 2010.

He is wanted for not complying with the terms of his release licence by failing to live at a specified address and not completing a thinking skills course.

Reynard is described as white, around 5ft 8in tall with a medium build and short brown hair.

At the time of his release Reynard was living in the Wakefield area of West Yorkshire. However, it is possible that he may be in York.

Chief Inspector Phil Cain, of York Safer Neighbourhood Command, said:

Adam, if you see or hear this message I strongly urge you to hand yourself in to the nearest police station. You are only making the eventual outcome for yourself worse when the police catch up with you and return you to custody.

I am also asking anyone who knows where Reynard is to come forward and contact the police or Crimestoppers immediately. You are not doing him any favours by protecting him and may be committing offences yourself.

Officers have been visiting addresses where they believe Reynard to be hiding out. They will continue to revisit them as well as any other addresses where he may be, until he is returned to prison to complete the sentence he was given for his offences.

Anyone who knows where Adam Reynard is should contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 1 and pass the information to he Force Control Room.

Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
